Murin is a not for profit association. We donate our business profits to remote housing, along with a number of community activities and major events.

Currently, Murin employs over 20 staff members in total, spanning across 5 sections. Of our 20+ employees, we are proud to note that 60% are of Aboriginal descent, with 75% of our Aboriginal staff members coming from the West Daly region.

Administration and Accounts Assistant

 

The Opportunity

Murin Association Inc is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic administration assistant to join its team to provide support to the Business and Finance Services Officer and assist all business activities including air and passenger travel, barge and road transport and community development.  The position is located at the Main Office, Marrara (Darwin International Airport) but will be required to work at other locations as needed

You will have outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities, well developed cultural awareness and value diversity, sound administrative and organisational skills and excellent knowledge of MS Office and office management software.  A Certificate III in Accounts Administration, Business Management or Accounting and Bookkeeping will be an advantage as will experience with accounting systems such as Xero.

Operations Manager, Logistics and Transportation Services

 

About the opportunity

Murin Association Inc is seeking an experienced and motivated Operations Manager to lead its logistics and transportation business unit.

The position is located at the Freight Depot, East Arm and will be required to work in other locations as needed.  An ability to undertake remote travel is essential.

 

You will possess proven experience in the transport industry and/or freight operations, excellent leadership and team-building skills, great communication and customer liaison abilities and highly developed time management and organisational competencies.  A Heavy Rigid and Forklift Licence is highly desirable and you must have excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software and budget development and management skills.

Our History

Murin Association was established in 1973 when the elders of Wadeye banded together to contribute a phenomenal $10,000 of their own funds to continue the operation of a Murin air service into Wadeye.

Murin has participated in a huge amount of projects since it’s establishment. These projects include air service, agricultural activity, housing and construction, homeland provision, brick works, transport and logistics, employment and training, and even the introduction of a piggery.
